1961

The Enpee Group was founded in Nigeria by Mr. N.P. Kirpalani as a small trading operation dealing in essential products.

1967

Commenced manufacture of textiles in Lagos, Nigeria, under Enpee Industries Nigeria Ltd.

1981

Diversified into manufacture of metal packaging products. Avon Crowncaps & Containers (Nigeria) Plc. commenced manufacturing operations at Sango-Otta near Lagos, Nigeria. Today Avon is Nigeria’s leading manufacturer of metal packaging products.

1990

Fine Chemicals (Nigeria) Ltd commenced manufacture of printing inks at Sango-Otta. Today Fine Chemicals manufactures not only printing inks but also printing cylinders and cast polypropylene (CPP) films and is the leading solution provider to the packaging industry in Nigeria.

Purechem Industries Ltd started manufacturing textile chemicals at Sango-Otta. Over the years Purechem has diversified into adhesives, construction chemicals, cement, fibre cement sheets, cables & switchgears and construction. Given the size and diversity of its business Purechem is now two companies viz. Purechem Industries Ltd and Purechem Manufacturing Ltd.

1996

Ventured out of Nigeria and commenced flexible packaging operations in India under the name of Positive Packaging Industries Ltd. Through organic growth and acquisitions Positive Packaging India became a leading global player in flexible packaging, metalizing of various films, printing cylinders, cast polypropylene films, labels and shrink sleeves. In early 2015, Positive Packaging India & UAE were sold to Huhtamaki PPL Ltd.

2003

FMCG business started in Nigeria with Pure Hygiene Limited (formerly known as Saponaria Industries Ltd)  commencing manufacture of bathing soaps, multipurpose soaps and laundry soaps. Today Pure Hygiene is Nigeria’s leading FMCG company having strong brands in the soaps, beauty care and home care product segments.

2006

Positive Packaging commenced flexible packaging operations in Nigeria and in the UAE. Post the sale of the Positive packaging businesses in India and UAE, Positive Packaging Nigeria has been renamed Primepak Industries Nigeria Limited.

2012

Renewsys – the Group’s foray into the renewable energy solutions space commenced operations in India for manufacture of EVA encapsulants and back sheets for solar panels.

2012

Encept Premedia was set up in India to provide upstream brand management services for packaging. Encept augments the Group’s diversified capabilities in supplies of manufactured/ printed packaging to global and regional FMCG, F&B and Industrial products brands.

2015

Positive Packaging India & UAE sold to Huhtamaki PPL Ltd in 2015. The Group retains Positive Packaging Industries’ Nigeria operations under the new name, PrimePak Industries Nigeria Limited.

2017

Primepak Industries Nigeria purchased, in its entirety, the land, buildings and machineries of Alufoils Nigeria Ltd. Alufoils Nigeria Ltd was in the business of manufacturing printed flexible packaging in Lagos, Nigeria for the domestic market. With this acquisition, Primepak Industries Nigeria will now have a second manufacturing unit in Lagos to better service all customers.

2019

Primepak Industries Nigeria purchased, in its entirety, the land, buildings and machineries of Ingenuity Engineering Company (Nigeria) Ltd. Ingenuity Engineering Company (Nigeria) Ltd was in the business of manufacturing printed flexible packaging in Lagos, Nigeria. With this acquisition, Primepak Industries Nigeria will be better able to serve all customers.
